Following more updates from Sony and assurances they are sleeping working round the clock to stop the naughty little boys hacking the PSN in the near future, the rumour mill has started once more about when the service will go live. Some had suggested last Wednesday as per our previous post, and thankfully I can … Continue reading »

Xbox Live the latest casualty in online security?
Having trouble logging onto Xbox Live? Yeah, so are we. As previously reported, Microsoft have issued a statement regarding a phishing scam that may affect users of Modern Warfare 2. However, the Xbox Live service is currently displaying it’s own obscure status code and a message declaring that some components are completely unavailable. Have Sony … Continue reading »

Updated: PSN to be back up tomorrow….
Rumours are afoot on the internet that the PSN will be back up at some point tomorrow. The information is of the “my mates, dad’s, best man for his second wedding said….” variety rather than Ken Kutaragi has sworn on his hamster that the service will definitely go live. It is rumoured that Sony have … Continue reading »
Wii2: Does it really look like this and have they REALLY called it Stream?
Right about the time I finally stopped laughing at the “revelation” that Nintendo’s next foray into the console world would be officially dubbed the Stream (like the truly puerile person that I am), Nintendo themselves finally confirmed what most of the developed world already knew: that they would be unveiling the Wii’s successor at E3. And … Continue reading »

Wii’s successor to be unveiled at E3 2011
So the rumours were true. Nintendo will be announcing their next entry in the home console market at E3 2011. Thank God I bought Wii Motion Plus! As Simon has already described, this new bit of kit should at least surpass PS3 and Xbox 360. Hopefully, Nintendo can wow us all with something truly forward … Continue reading »
Wii 2 to have a considerable lead on PS4/Xbox 720
Kotaku reported yesterday that Microsoft and Sony will not unveil their next-gen products until 2014. Hardly unexpected as both have been very clear that they really have no desire to move on. Game production costs have already scaled beyond most financiers nightmares, so another order of magnitude is hardly what they are looking for.

Project Cafe: Will Wii2 blow everyone’s minds?
I own a Wii. Problem is, I haven’t turned it on a while. It was fun for a while, and it does honestly have some great exclusive titles on it, especially for anyone who grew up with a SNES. But in a world where people are already starting to look beyond HD, and multi-platform titles … Continue reading »

Most Wanted: Will inFamous 2 spark the next evolution in gaming?
That got your attention didn’t it? Perhaps “next generation” is a bit of an exaggeration, but the information that is emerging from Sucker Punch Productions has definitely put inFamous 2 on our radar of games to watch out for in 2011. inFamous stormed onto the PS3 in 2009, boosting the appeal of Sony’s struggling hardware with … Continue reading »
Turtle Beach HPA2 on Xbox 360 – Review and How-to
There are a number of Surround-Sound gaming headset around from the likes of Turtle Beach, Astro and Tritton, however if you want to use them on your console the pickings are slimmer. Faster, more responsive, sleeker, more grown up buttons, proper keyboard with a TAB key, MUCH greater browser functionality (including ‘incognito mode….) equal video and camera capabilities but with the added versatility of Android 3.0 (Honeycomb).

Great Expectations: The legacy of the Sony Playstation still hangs over its present day successor
On 3rd December 1994, the video gaming world changed forever.
