Battlefield 3: Pre-Orders Up 700%

In the recently released EA financial statement for the last calendar year, it looks as if Battlefield 3 has certainly got Activision and their Call of Duty franchise firmly in their sights.

Based on the pre-order status for last year’s brilliant Battlefield: Bad Company 2,  EA have announced that pre-orders for this year’s blockbuster are topping 700% of that received in 2010 for BFBC2.

With 2.3 million units sold within the first couple of weeks for BFBC2 that could potentially mean that Battlefield 3 could be looking at nearly 16.1 million units sold across the same period of time. Obviously this is complete speculation, but it would be great to see the series rightfully challenge the mantle that COD has had on console based FPS’s.

  3. Its like you read my mind! You seem to know a lot about this, like you wrote the book in it or something. I believe that you can do with a few % to force the message home a bit, however other than that, that is excellent blog. A great read. I will definitely be back.
