Xbox 360 to get full stereoscopic 3D support?

Eurogamer are quoting unnamed sources who suggest that the Xbox 360 is set to follow in the PS3’s footsteps and offer full Stereoscopic 3D support on compatible televisions after a firmware update.

The sources even suggest that the Xbox 360 is even more capable than Sony’s counterpart at handling the complexities of producing a true 3D image, and that Microsoft are set to make the official announcement at E3.

This would actually signal a change of heart from Microsoft who have been dismissive of Stereoscopic 3D in the past.

The PS3 began offering 3D support in June last year, and although the list of compatible titles is currently slim, it is growing, with some of the most popular multi-platform titles such as Call of Duty: Black Ops and Crysis 2 being fully compatible, and exclusive titles such as Uncharted 3, Resistance 3 and Ridge Racer 7 set to join smash-hits like Killzone 3 and Gran Turismo 5.
