Playstation store and all services up ‘by the end of the month’

Jeff Rubenstein, Social Media Manager at Sony Computer Entertainment America, has announced on the official Playstation America blog that the Playstation Store and all further Playstation Network Services will be up and running by the end of the month.

Unfortunately, there is nothing more definite than that, with Sony effectively saying it could be any time over the next week.

This, like many reports that have been coming out during the outage is a mixed message: it’s encouraging to have an official time-frame, but it’s been a long time coming and it’s hardly definitive.

With reports of further websites and services in the wider Sony network being compromised, the huge toll taken on business in Japan due to the earthquakes in March this year, and rumours abounding that their biggest Japanese rival – Nintendo – is due to unveil a new console in a couple of weeks time (currently known as both Project Cafe and Stream), Sony definitely have their plate rather full for the next few months.
